Album Review: VUKOVI – Fall Better

Sugar and salt Glaswiegen eclectic Rockers VUKOVI bring us an infectious headline helping of their festival bound anthems on their second full-length release, ‘Fall Better’. After the automated intro of ‘17359’ the band launch into the devastatingly tasty opening cut and lead single ‘Violent Minds’ (link below). VUKOVI’s, at times, breathless musical mixology kicks off early and proceeds to leave its multi-faceted boot wedged in every genre and subculture door. The streamlined donkey kick brutality of ‘Violent Minds’ is replaced by the hip-shaking, pogo-lite beauty of ‘Aura’, a track which could easily slip into the mainstream radio’s playlist with just the merest hint of lubrication. The pic ‘n’ mix  ‘C.L.A.U.D.I.A’ has a chart-friendly atmospheric edge married with some axe chopping lyrics before ‘Behave’ and some crisscrossed sexual signals on ‘Play With Me ‘Cos I Can Take It’. The album flows throughout and the band seem to have found their natural musical platform to sail away on. ‘All That Candy’ continues the Vukovi white water raft ride while ‘Where Are You’ unashamedly ticks the slower-paced ballad ballot box. The closing pair of ‘White Lies’ and the purge slurred punk of ‘Run And Hide’ complete this dirty gem of an album.

The band are just about to head out on a nationwide tour which includes some exclusive and not be missed in-store shows. For more VUKOVI information head over to https://www.facebook.com/vukoviband/
