Atmospheric grunge rock trio: Bloodhound, are set to release their debut album ‘Fragile Skeleton’ on 31st January! This album is a story of personal experience and how a person can appear strong on the outside while being fragile and afraid on the inside. This poignant triumph covers a range of emotional experiences and delves in to the delicate problems that so many people hide, making it a relatable listen for all.
The album begins with ‘Everyone Is My Friend’, a heavily distorted track that paves the way perfectly for the rest of the album. The first track of the album should always be one that embodies the sound of the band and this track definitely works!
‘Again’, ‘Praise’ and ‘Worn Down’ were the first three singles released in the build up to the album and they all bring something different to the table. These tracks are perfect illustrations of Bloodhound’s musical and vocal fury, driven by seductive and enduring melodies.
‘Again’ is an assault on the senses but in the best possible way! Its DIY sound and tortured, shrieking vocals make it quite an intense listen in comparison to the next track. ‘Praise’ is much easier on the ears but is still laced with loud, heavy riffs that get your heart racing! To contrast both of these prior tracks, ‘Worn Down’ comes in with a much softer but doomy intro, similar to that of ‘If This Is The Way It Is’, with a vicious, attacking chorus that adopts a sound similar to that previously heard on the album. Fragile Skeleton definitely has the listener on the edge of their seat!
With intriguing tracks featuring artists Fiona Lee and Ru Cowl, there is something for everyone! Fragile Skeleton is a grunge rockers dream, with its distorted musicality and psychedelic noise alongside the powerful messages, it can certainly be seen as a memorable album for 2020!
