Founded by Luke Daley and some like-minded friends, SICK was created with the aim to combine the high energy and fast tempo of classic speed metal bands with the powerful riffs of rock n’ roll, known to themselves as Speed Rock. Where, after several lineup changes and years out of education, SICK finally burst onto the Liverpool music scene in late 2018.
In time the band settled on its current line-up with Luke Daley on vocals and drums joined by close friend Dave Bareham on Rhythm Guitar and eventually Josh Thorley on Bass and Max McGrath on Lead Guitar. Through a shared love of writing music and a passion for a broad spectrum of rock and metal music (where key influences include The Ramones, Slayer, Guns n Roses, Helloween) SICK aims to provide energetic and exciting live shows, channelling a finely tuned high speed musicianship to produce an experience you can’t help but move to.
Since forming, the band has gone from strength to strength. Building an original setlist from the ground upwards with the aim to take it as far as it can go while enjoying every minute. Currently the band has had the opportunity to perform gigs in Cheshire, Merseyside and Midlands while continuing to grow from strength to strength. SICK have played two O2 Academies, conventions and even a marathon. After the band’s first demo and through the further support of fans, SICK released their first EP, “Time’s Running Out”. The release was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign. The new EP contains debut material as well as improved demo material, every bit as loud and fast as the band’s live shows. From here the only way is upwards as the Scouse Speed Rockers set their sights on the UK music scene and eventual world domination.
Cheers guys!
From Luke and the lads at SICK!
