Sometime The Wolf share debut single ‘Ashes

Rising from the depths of Preston in Lancashire, gothic rock newcomers Sometime The Wolf have been creating a name for themselves across the north of England, selling out shows and building a fervent fanbase for their dark, atmospheric music. Inspired by bands such as Fields of The Nephilim, Tiamat, Behemoth and Karnivool, the band bring a modern touch to the genre, delivering a powerful sound laden with mystery, magic and presence.

Now stepping onto the national stage, they release their transfixing debut album From Here and Earth, on streaming services at the start of next year via Transcend Music. A complete and hypnotic body of work, it showcases a band who are ready to sit at the top of the gothic scene and inspire legions of followers around the world.

Ahead of the album, they have released the track ‘Ashes’ which leads with anthemic guitar lines, emotive vocals and euphoric reverberations which build to a growling metal crescendo. An epic statement of intent, it instantly establishes Sometime The Wolf as a major force to be reckoned with.

Since their incarnation the five-piece – consisting of Drew Freeman (vocals), Lee Fury (Guitar/Vocals), Joe Walsh (Guitar), Korv Sutch (Bass) and Lewis Peacock (Drums) – have taken their time crafting a debut album of immense scope and drama, and From Here and Earth is the outstanding result.

The album offers nine tracks, layered with brooding melodies and effects, intricate guitar work and dark, gravely vocals which create a swirl of deep, atmospheric textures. Expansive opener ‘Earth Wane’ introduces the album with its ethereal soundscapes which lead into the cinematic dramas of ‘Anna’ and the chiming guitar figures of potential dancefloor hit ‘Samaria (Breaking Of The Cloud)’.

Elsewhere tracks such as ‘Dancing With Her Shadows’, ‘Higher Heaven’ and ‘Wish’ highlight the band’s dynamic balance of melody and explosive riff power, while ‘Deeper Than Below’ and dramatic closer ‘From Here and Earth’ reveal some of the album’s softer moments.

This remarkable debut is just the start for Sometime The Wolf, who are already working on new material and have major live plans confirmed for 2020.  Find out more at https://www.sometimethewolf.co.uk/
