Teen drum prodigy Maren Alford has released her latest playthrough video cover and tackles SUM 41’s classic anthem “Fat Lip.” Over the last few years, when not performing with her rising pop-rock band NOT UR GIRLFRENZ, the 15 year old Maren has released multiple cover videos of her favorite bands like SLIPKNOT (“Unsainted”), AVENGED SEVENFOLD (“Nightmare”), MÖTLEY CRÜE (“Kickstart My Heart”) and MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE (“Welcome To The Black Parade”) among others.
Commenting on the playthrough, Maren says:
“When I walked into the “Loyal to the Craft” workshop sponsored by SJC Drums and Vans earlier this year, I had no idea I’d end up jamming together with Sum 41’s amazing Frank Zummo on their iconic anthem “Fat Lip”! Frank surprised me with a spontaneous invitation to join him onstage for his final performance of the night, and even let me share his kit! I posted a short clip of the song soon after the workshop and have had many requests to do a full drum cover of this pop punk classic ever since. Not only does the song remind me of that awesome experience, I love its incredible energy and attitude!”
