North Wales-based noisy-alternative-punks GRAVVES are pleased to unveil their latest music video for single ‘Jaws’ dubbed a “short, hectic and animated barrage of riff-heavy punk rock”.
The track is taken from their new split EP with Chester hot-rod indie/alternative duo DEH-YEY released 18th October through Restless Bear which is available to stream and purchase HERE.
Commenting on the song, GRAVVES explained: “Jaws is a peak into Adam’s (bass/vocals) head. It has all sorts of themes which the lyrics hint at. ‘I’ll be Brody, you be Jaws’ is about people who think they’re bigger and better than other people – plenty of which we’ve met since being in a band – but who everybody else views in a different way.
We wanted a fast paced, frentic and colourful video for Jaws. Thematically it’s a resentful and turbulent song, and we really wanted that to come across on screen. We thought Callum from CSD Videography would be perfect for this given his talent for piecing together cool animated sequences that definitely catch the eye.”
Hailing from the North Wales border, the weird and wonderful GRAVVES are a known name in the UK’s underground punk and alternative scene. Since the release of their ‘OH, THE JOY’ EP, a combination of relentless touring, including slots at Sound City Festival, Wrong Festival and Focus Wales, and airplay from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Wales, Amazing Radio and Kerrang! Radio has seen them amass a fan base up and down the UK.
Commenting on the release drummer Tom Williams explained: “Deh-Yey are one of the best bands from Chester, and nice guys too. It was a no brainer to do this with them, especially with us both joining Restless Bear around the same time”.
