The Guru Guru release brand new single and video for ‘Mache’

Belgian 5 piece THE GURU GURU today (Nov 5th) release a brand new video/single for ‘Mache, which is taken from their sophomore album ‘Point Fingers’, which will be released on Luik Records (BE) and Grabuge Records (FR) on January 31st 2020THE GURU GURU’S latest offering digs even deeper into turmoil than their last; An auditory aberration that spirals into madness.

“Racing thoughts can lead to stress and anxiety but there is always escapism, arts, useless matters to channel them. The chorus is sung as a tribute to romance and my relation with it. The song needed a rap about life and I wanted it to be sincere, like real rap. That moment in my life felt dull, so it had to be a dull rap about a dull life and a chorus about putting “wet on the real” as a reaction to it. Many people, including me, tend to mask, stage, and filter what they show to the outside world. Just like adding “wet” to the delay effect on a vocal recording.” – Tom Adriaenssens

The forthcoming new album ‘POINT FINGERS’ was produced by Wouter Vlaeminck (Raketkanon, Kapitan Korsakov), mixed by David Bottrill (King Crimson, Tool, Coheed and Cambria) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Chelsea Wolfe, Deerhunter, Lightning Bolt).

THE GURU GURU has been happily dealing in borderline rock since 2012, combining feverishly angular guitars with off-kilter, poly-rhythms all complimented by erratic and unhinged vocals. While TGG’s influences are drawn from the likes of  METZ, Pere Ubu, Deerhoof, The Jesus Lizard, The Mars Volta & Andy Kaufman, the indie-math/psycho-noise rulebook is torn apart, resulting in chaotic songs that somehow seem to develop into wriggling earworms.

Praised for their live performances, THE GURU GURU is a must-see… With palpable, electric energy oozing from the stage, vocalist  Tom Adriaenssens balances on the verge of theatrical psychosis. TGG has made their mark playing across Europe sharing stages with the likes of Brutus, Raketkanon and Kapitan Korsakov as well as appearing at festivals such as ArcTanGent (UK), Portals (UK), Ment (SLO), Monkey Week (ESP), Rock Herk (BE), Sziget (HU) and Pukkelpop (BE).

The band will be performing at the Eurosonic Festival on January 15th 2020, and some UK live dates will follow very soon. Watch this space.
