Dua Lipa releases her new track “Don’t Start Now” today Friday November 1st. Serving up a divine slice of pumping disco, “Don’t Start Now” is an adrenalin fuelled, feel good dance floor anthem of positivity and self-empowerment.
“I chose to put this song out first so I could close one chapter of my life and start another” explains Dua – “Into a new era with a new sound! It’s about moving on and not allowing anyone to get in the way of that. It also felt like a natural first song choice as I made it with the brilliant same crew I made ‘New Rules’ with”.
The video for “Don’t Start Now” is also due out today and is directed by the acclaimed director Nabil, who has previously worked with Kanye West, The Weeknd, James Blake and Bon Iver. This Sunday will see Dua perform “Don’t Start Now” at the EMA’s in Seville to her fans all around the world.
Since arriving in style in 2015 Dua’s debut album has eclipsed 4 million sales worldwide and spawned 40 million single sales. It is officially the most streamed album by a female artist in Spotify history. She is also the youngest artist ever to hit 1 billion views on YouTube and has won 3 BRITS for British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Artist in 2018 and Best British Single for “One Kiss” with Calvin Harris in 2019 along with 2 Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording for “Electricity”, her collaboration with Silk City at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
