An exciting new era in Conor Maynard’s career is firmly underway. It had been four years since he last released original material as a lead solo artist, but he’s already flying following his recent singles ‘Not Over You’ and ‘Hate How Much I Love You’ – two tracks which have already accumulated 21 million streams between them. And there’s much more to come too. Conor sets off on a major European tour tomorrow which covers 14 shows across 10 countries, while more new music will emerge early next year.
Now Conor kick-starts the tour by sharing his brand new single ‘Waste Your Time’. The biggest pop anthem of his three recent tracks, ‘Waste Your Time’ is a pure love song which expresses commitment to someone who has endured “too many times that your heart has been left down.” Backed by a luminous, feel-good production, Conor captures that emotion with his rich vocal tone and impeccable phrasing.
“I wanted to write a really honest song that tells someone they’ll find love, even if it might feel impossible right now”, explains Conor, “I can’t wait now to get on the road and play it live”.
Conor’s been continually building momentum in recent months, with a Trending video at YouTube, support from Radio 1’s Best New Pop and becoming Songkick’s Artist of the Week. His three recent singles have combined to promise a glittering future for an artist who has made an indelible impact on the landscape of modern pop. After 5 Top 10 singles, a #1 album, 10 million monthly listeners, 2 billion streams and a host of major collaborations (Pharrell Williams, Wiley, Rita Ora), Conor Maynard has a lot more to offer.
A natural performer, Conor has previously graced huge stages with a variety of shows including an arena tour as guest to The Vamps plus Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball and the Wireless Festival.
