Dead by the Weekend is an English Alternative Rock band from Portsmouth, Hampshire, consisting of lead vocalist Nelson Joiner Velasco, guitarists Liam Baldwin & Matt Thomson, Bassist Jack Mills, and drummer Maison Britton. Nelson, originally known for his work in pop-punk band Hold Me Down, still set on the idea of world domination, recruited Jack and Liam for a new project, who were later joined by Maison, and later Matt. (Also, from Hold Me Down) The band’s name stems from an offhand comment made by Liam, in reference to the band’s physical wellbeing after hard partying. The band later realised this phrase still had pertinent meaning, as they practiced at the end of the week. The band’s music has mostly been described as alternative rock, but has also been labelled as hard rock, stadium rock, and pop-rock.
• Nelson Joiner Velasco – lead vocals (2018-present)
• Jack Mills – rhythm and lead guitar, programming (2018), bass guitar (2019-present)
• Liam Baldwin – lead guitar, backing vocals, unclean vocals (2018-present)

• Matt Thomson – rhythm and lead guitar (2019-present)
A billow of melody and vivacious riffs that see the band blend a classic rock & roll sound, with an admirable variety of alternative influences, steeped in hard hitting, huge, stadium-worthy choruses. Lyrically, it’s often comical or satirical, (‘Itch’, ‘Lizard Men’) but there are some poignant and emotive anthems too! (‘Clarity’, ‘Every Road’)
Dead by the Weekend’s debut EP ‘Wake Me Up When I’m Dead’ drops on October 4. Featuring the single ‘Fly Away.’
