Haggard Cat Announce New Album ‘Common Sense Holiday’

The inimitable creative driving force that is Haggard Cat are back with a new album full of riffs and intent, the first of which to be revealed comprise new single ‘First Words’. The track features the one and only Jamie Lenman on guest vocals and was first revealed to the world on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show this weekend. Haggard Cat vocalist, guitarist and general raiser of hell Matt Reynolds says “‘First Words’ was the first thing we wrote for the album, and it’s also the first track on the album. It sets out our blue-print for ‘Common Sense Holiday’ pretty neatly so we thought it only made sense to be the very first snippet that people get to hear. The song itself is about finding your own unique voice and learning how to use it for the right reason. It’s also about holding each other up because we are stronger in numbers than as individuals moving in different directions.”

Continuing to muse on the album’s creation, Matt says: “It was very important to us during the creation of CSH that we didn’t restrict ourselves to any formulas or boundaries. We absolutely ripped the songs apart when we went into the studio and the result is something unlike anything else we’ve ever released, and we absolutely can’t wait to show it to everyone!”

An absolute sonic beast, the band, completed by drummer Tom Marsh, combine gargantuan hooks, violently voracious beats and thoughtful lyrical themes all pummelled out live at head spinning volumes with unrivalled intensity. An immersive experience, Haggard Cat’s live show can be experienced at various dates supporting the likes of The Virginmarys this autumn and winter with more to be announced.

In fact it is Haggard Cat’s mission statement to tour non-stop in their bid to play to absolutely everyone and anyone. So far, their relentless touring schedule has seen them complete numerous DIY headline tours and play with the likes of Enter Shikari, Dead Kennedys, Black Peaks, Ugly Kid Joe, Jamie Lenman, DZ Deathrays, Feed The Rhino, Employed to Serve and Palm Reader, as well as racking up storming mainstage performances at 2000 Trees and ArcTanGent festivals and a rapturous appearance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
