Saint Agnes release new single ‘Brother’ via Death Or Glory Gang Records

Following a formidable festival season (including performances at Isle of Wight Festival, Rock for People, Camden Rocks, Truck Festival, Standon Calling, Y Not, Handmade, Great Escape and many more), Saint Agnes return with their new single ‘Brother’, the first new material since their goliath debut album ‘Welcome To Silvertown’ which smashed 4 million streams on Spotify within three months of release.

Written backstage and road-tested immediately, the band honed ‘Brother’ into three minutes of heavy beats and spitting punk vocals, igniting mosh pits across Europe all summer. Built around an insistent, groove-heavy guitar riff, the song deals with the complex relationship of sibling love and rivalry. Kitty’s notoriously unhinged live presence is captured in a ferocious vocal, where her repeated refrains demand attention with insistent ferocity. ‘Brother’ is mean, dangerous, and utterly irresistible.

Kitty A. Austen (vocals/guitar), explains: “Saint Agnes and our wider family are a fucked up tribe of weirdos, outsiders and freaks, and we are a home for anyone who’s never felt like they quite fitted. Our new EP is a celebration of the strange.”

She continues “We wanted to create something that was bold in its simplicity and disarming in its honesty. The songs have a child-like narrative – a direct voice that cuts straight to the heart of things in a way that only a kid can. The songs are about powerlessness and empowerment, bullying and being a bully, loving and hating the same person. The imagery is twisted and disturbing with shadows and monsters – just how a kid imagines things.”

Consisting of Kitty A. Austen (vocals/guitar), Jon James Tufnell (vocals/guitar), Ben Chernitsky (bass) and Andrew Head (drums) – Saint Agnes’ debut record ‘Welcome To Silvertown’ received acclaim from the likes of Kerrang!, The Independent, Classic Rock and more, following radio support from Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X)

The band set off on a UK headline tour this October, including their biggest London show to date at Dingwalls on October 24th. Full dates are listed below. Purchase tickets to see Saint Agnes live HERE.
