Nordoff Robbins Celebrate A Huge Get Loud 2019 With An Unmissable Night Of Live Music

After last year’s undeniable success, Nordoff Robbins’ Get Loud returned for a memorable 2019 edition – serving up 12 intimate shows up and down the UK from a true mix of beloved favourites across genres and styles, all coming together to raise awareness of the phenomenal work Nordoff Robbins does and the power of Music Therapy!

In our nation’s capital, three standout shows brought the pop world into focus. One of the most anticipated returns of the year, Louise Redknapp brought her unmistakable catalogue of hits to Omeara – from Eternal favourites to solo moves, for a special night indeed. Over at XOYO, MNEK delivered a true modern pop spectacle – bringing those arena-filling sounds to the club for a sizzling performance, while at The Trinity in Harrow, Scouting For Girls took a trip down memory lane with an unstoppable array of hits for a show unlikely to be repeated anytime soon!
Down on the south coast, a slew of incredible nights left their mark for Nordoff Robbins’ Get Loud. In Portsmouth, one of the nation’s most beloved modern wordsmiths Frank Turner played an unforgettable show at Wedgewood Rooms – sitting nicely ahead of his huge UK, US and European tour in the months ahead. Brighton was once again thriving with the sound of Get Loud, with the iconic 10cc dropping classic after classic at Komedia for one of the smallest shows of their platinum-selling career – whilst Hollie Cook took over The Prince Albert for an intimate showing from one of the most beloved new songwriters the UK has to offer.

At the exact same moment in Liverpool, chart sensation Sigala was spinning his own way to the top with an unparalleled display of singalong hits that had The Loft in awe. The second city was alive with Get Loud, as Birmingham played host to a sold-out display from Akala – one of the most influential musicians of modern times, whose hard-hitting takes and visceral force left no question on who was here to seize the night. Equally turning things up to 11 were Skindred, heading to Middlesbrough for a packed evening of titan-sized anthems – leaving t-shirts flying in the air as a live act that needs to be seen to be believed.
‘Raise Your Hands’ screamed Reef, and the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds responded with gusto with a storming set from the riffing kings leaving fans heading home with smiles across every face. It was a similar story up in Scotland, with the legendary Nazareth running through an impressive back-catalogue in Dunfermline while the Al Murray-featuring supergroup fun brigade Fat Cops put on a true highlight of the entire evening – with laughs and thrills at every turn.

With activities happening across the UK, Get Loud was once again a defining day of live music and entertainment – shining a light on the amazing work Nordoff Robbins does across the UK in supporting those who need it the most, with the power of music therapy to enrich lives front and centre. With centres and services up and down the UK, it’s a service all can engage and embrace – with further information on everything they do available at: https://www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/
