Australia based The Faim have already gained a very dedicated fan base in the short time they’ve already been around, therefore this album comes with high expectations. Those expecting a solid pop-punk record won’t be disappointed then.
Obvious comparisons are going to made with bands like Panic At The Disco and Fall Out Boy. Whilst they don’t have the creativity of the later, they do know how to write a catchy pop tune. Single “Humans” is sung with a lot of passion and gusto and clearly this is an album that the band have put a lot of effort into.
The songs themselves have been trialed out over months of solid touring so they are clearly working well with fans. There are several highlights on the album, “Tongue Tied” kicks things off in a really funky way which sets a precident for the rest of the record. “Amelie” in particular stands out as it builds its way through the verses to the powerful chorus.
Is the album going to live on in same vein as From Under The Cork Tree or Enema Of The State? No. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun with it and there are certainly a lot worse ways you could spend half an hour of your time. This is clearly going to lead to larger stages for them very soon.
