Check out Feather Trade’s single Just Like Film

Following the announcement of their full UK tour with SPEAR OF DESTINY in September, Athens, GA post-punk trio FEATHER TRADE have revealed the electrifying and cinematic video for JUST LIKE FILM, taken from their forthcoming debut album.

The video was shot in a warehouse space in Atlanta, Georgia,” explains singer and guitarist Chisolm Thompson. “We did it on a shoe string budget, shot in a day, and wanted to keep it minimal, playing with light and darkness the way film does as a medium itself. We felt it worked with the meaning of the song, which plays with the idea of contrasts and contradictions as you make your way through life. The darker realities of living are often only given purpose by the positive, brighter moments in life; as such, our lives are just like film, however different they may be from the dreams we wish for.”

FEATHER TRADE recorded their debut album with producer Matt Yelton (Pixies, Frank Black & The Catholics). After meeting fellow producer Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Einsturzende Neubauten, Interpol) at one the band’s festival shows in the USA, both Yelton and Jones stressed their similarities to a number of UK bands in critical politik and lyrical content, finding an alliance with artists who speak of working class struggle in an era of the commodification of art.

Like seeing Bauhaus playing a set of Pixies covers – total energy, total darkness, total volume – and following previous support shows with the likes of Ought, Deerhoof, Daniel Johnston, Florence and the Machine and the Maccabees, the band will now play the following UK dates, on which an exclusive and very limited advance run of the album will be available:
