they are extraordinary. I think they are a shining future star – Mary Anne Hobbs, BBC 6 Music
With all three of the first singles from Kitt Philippas upcoming debut album Human being nominated for Best Song by the Northern Irish Music Prize – the expectation is high for the next and final single to be released ahead of the albums release. ‘Fahrenheit’ is that single, due for release on Paragon Records Friday 13th September.
Listen to Fahrenheit below!
Speaking of the track, Kitt Philippa says:
“There’s a heaviness in the lyrics, and an intensity to their delivery. The cross-section of the track probably reveals difficulty interacting with self and others, at times. Looking at thermometers to understand how something feels is relatively simple; I interchanged the language to maybe try to view things in an easier way.
It is a busy track with a lot of layers and intersections. I very much see all the individual parts like components of a greater structure – they have their own characters – but how they work together interested me.”
With a hugely exciting video to follow in late September, and with the song always getting very positive responses from live audiences, hopes are high for Fahrenheit.
Aside from shooting the video for Fahrenheit, Kitt Philippa has had a very busy end to the summer with star turns at Electric Picnic, Stendhal and Body and Soul and other festivals. Support from radio in UK and Ireland continued throughout June, July and August and now also continues to grow in Europe. Kitt Philippa headlines Dublin (4th, Lost Lane) and London (Set, Dalston, 23rd) in October with further November / December tour dates being announced shortly.
