James Morrison shares new single ‘So Beautiful’

Having returned with the strongest album of his career in the shape of ‘You’re Stronger Than You Know’, the latest stage in the James Morrison success story continues. Launched with ‘My Love Goes On’ (featuring Joss Stone) which was named Record of the Week and added to the A-list at Radio 2, and soon climbed to13 million streams. He then hit the summer festival circuit, completing a triumphant set at Glastonbury, joining Joss Stone at Exeter’s Powderham Castle and guesting at Quincy Jones’ all-star celebration show at The O2.

Now James Morrison shares his latest single to be taken from the album, ‘So Beautiful’. Originally co-written a decade ago with Gary Barlow and ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Steve MacJames rediscovered the song during sessions for the album with producer Mark Taylor. He realised it was the perfect way to express his love and appreciation for his long-term partner Gill, and re-recorded the song to capture the Motown-meets-Stax vibe that informs the rest of the album. The single also includes a live version of the song recorded at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival for the Jo Whiley Show on BBC Radio 2.

He commented, “After everything we went through, it seemed to say everything I wanted to.”
