Vevo announces the release of Friendly Fires’ live performances of “Heaven Let Me In” (co-produced by Disclosure) and “Offline.” Formed by a trio of lifelong friends, Friendly Fires began combining the anthemic choruses and swooning melodies of indie rock and shoegaze with the insistent pulse of dance music in the mid-2000s. The mix of styles sounded prescient on 2008’s Friendly Fires and 2011’s Pala, while the band’s later singles and albums reflected how enmeshed the worlds of indie and dance were as the 2010’s came to a close.
“Heaven Let Me In” and “Offline” are both from Friendly Fires’ first new album in eight years, Inflorescent, released August 16th on Polydor. “‘Heaven Let Me In’ is a song about being comfortable in your own skin,” the band’s Ed Macfarlane explained, “When you stop trying so hard and embrace your imperfection then opportunities arise and doors open.”
You can catch Friendly Fires live on their world tour this summer. “Heaven Let Me In” and “Offline” are now streaming on all platforms. Keep up with exclusive content from artists all over the world on YouTube.com/Vevo.
