Today (14th August 2019) UK rock duo MYOK release their single ‘Kiss’, the third taken from theirDagger EP. The final track on the EP, which was released in May 2019, ‘Kiss’ showcases the band’s diverse songwriting abilities, slowing down the pace and taking an anthemic route away from their often frenetic sound.
“The concept for ‘Kiss’ came from a friend who can get absolutely messed up and go to bed at 3-4am and be up at 6am bright as a button. We’re like, how can you do that?! He answered: “dear boy, sleep is the sister of death.” So ‘Kiss’ is about taking our daily mini death.”
Citing influence from a wide range of bands including Jimmy Eat World, Biffy Clyro, Led Zeppelin,Muse and Black Peaks, the rising two-piece are shaping their own brand of alt-rock, with BBC Radio 1 presenter Daniel P. Carter describing them as “like Biffy at their proggy best” in his Kerrang! Magazine column.
2019 has been a busy year for MYOK, who have been honing their thunderous live set and independently writing, producing and recording their Dagger EP, which has turned the heads of Daniel P. Carter, BBC Introducing and more.
In their short career MYOK have also supported Mallory Knox, The Struts, Press To MECO andAllusinlove, and appeared at Y Not Festival, Camden Rocks and Bearded Theory Festival.
