Soeur release brand new single ‘Better’

Bristol 3 piece SOEUR return with a growling, atmospheric, brand new single ‘Better’, which was given its world premiere on the Radio 1 Rock Show last night (Sunday 11th August) and is out now.

The track is taken from their forthcoming, brilliant new EP ‘No Show’, which is set for release on September 23rd, and available for pre-order – HERE.

As with all previously released singles and EP, ‘No Show’ is again a 100% fully DIY venture from the band, allowing them complete creative freedom over all aspects of their musical output.

A bit about the track from vocalist/guitarist, Tina Maynard – “I started writing this song about the frustrations of maintaining relationships with people who I thought were difficult to get on with. It’s also about the stupidity of thinking like that. It’s like I’ve got it all figured out and everyone else must be missing something because we don’t see eye to eye; when actually, I really have nothing figured out and it’s way more helpful to agree to disagree, learn something from it and move on. So in the end, this song is a gentle reminder to myself to get down off my high horse and appreciate that we all live our lives in different ways, and that that is both okay and amazing.”

Recorded over 3/4 days across both Silk Mill Studios in Stoke and Seamus Wong Studios in Leicester, ‘No Show’ is filled with smart, pop and soul infused, twisted rock music. Utilising stunning production and the bands duel melodic vocal, SOEUR create a thoroughly modern take on the alternative with influences from Bjork to PJ Harvey, Shellac to Tool, and Skunk Anansieto QOTSA.

‘Better’ follows previous single Fight (from the EP of the same name), which saw huge support from the likes of Annie Mac, Huw Stevens and Dan Carter/The Rock Show on Radio 1 (which included a Maida Vale live session), as well as Steve Lamaq on 6Music, Alex Baker at Kerrang! Radio, Upset Magazine, Kerrang!, Clash Magazine and Rock Sound.

Live wise, the band have worked hard over the last few years, touring and touring, building up a loyal support base, booking their own tours and securing their own festival slots. They have also played shows with the likes of Demob Happy, Black Futures & Orchards, as well as supportedIDLES, Yonaka, Dilly Dally and more.

This summer the band will be all over the UK at festivals this summer, including 2000trees, ArcTanGent and Boomtown, and then will be out touring the UK supporting St Agnes through October.
