Welsh rock outfit Feeder release their tenth studio album 22 years after their debut effort Polyethene. Anyone who is a fan of them or knows anything about the band will probably know that this new release isn’t going to be anything particularly ground-breaking. What we have though are 12 rock tracks which are pretty inoffensive and will past the time pleasantly enough.
“Fear Of Flying” is a very solid single that fits right into the Feeder mould. It rattles along driven by its guitars and drums. Title track “Tallulah” tries something a little bit different with its synthy chorus and is a pleasant change of pace from the guitars that dominate the album. “Kyoto” is by far the best track on and is one of the heaviest things that they have ever released and hopefully something they will look to play on their upcoming winter tour.
One could argue that the album is a little one note in general and that some of these songs do end up merging into one another. However the times in which they do break away from the norm show that there is still life in them yet.
