Blossoms To Headline The Goose Island Presents: Hop Party 2019

The craft beer kings at Goose Island are once again bringing the party to London-town, hosting an incredible day of music, beer and entertainment at Oval Space on Saturday September 7th – headlined by indie titans Blossoms. They’ll be capping off a packed day full of musical entertainment and a delectable mix of the very best beers and fun times, it’s the perfect way to round off the summer in style.

Blossoms headline the show, having fast risen to become one of the biggest bands in the UK, selling out huge venues in a day and performing as the main support at this year’s Reading and Leeds festival before the co-headliners Post Malone and Twenty One Pilots.  Their eponymous debut album and follow up, ‘Cool Like You’ have cemented their place as one of the UK’s best guitar bands and the Hop Party crowd will enjoy anthems such as ‘Charlemagne’, ‘There’s a Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)’, ‘I Can’t Stand It’ and the brilliant new single ‘Your Girlfriend’.

The band has a strong connection to beer having named themselves after their local public house, The Blossoms in Stockport and they regularly pop in to record their acclaimed Pubcast.  To honour their performance, Blossoms and the Goose Island head brewer have collaborated to create Blossoms’ SKBrew. This IPA has a deep and layered hop character from start to finish with notes of mango, grapefruit and pine and has an ABV of 6.4%.

Blossoms said:
“We’re delighted to have teamed up with Goose Island to create our very own SK-BREW. Playing a really intimate show is something we’ve always loved doing too, hop’fully the gig will be a barrel of laughs”
Joining Blossoms are South London’s very own Shame – primed to bring an in-your-face energy to proceedings and proving why many tout them as the best live band on the planet right now. Rising from the bristling South London scene, Shame captured attention with their vastly acclaimed debut album ‘Songs Of Praise’ – performing hundreds of shows around the globe and grabbing plaudits at every turn. Their visceral take on modern punk stands them as one of the most exciting bands in the UK right now, with anticipation growing around what’s to come next with that hotly anticipated second album. Before then, Shame will take to the Goose Island Presents Hop Party stage for an unmissable set in Oval Space’s famed halls. Pointing to the future, expect the show to dazzle with Park Hotel bringing cocktails of continental disco-influenced pop – proving why they’ve been lighting up festival stages and shows across Europe with their carnival of sound.
Throughout the day in the outdoor event space the Goose Island Presents Hop Party will be basking in the final days of summer with the biggest party of them all spanning across Oval Space and the surrounding area. Festival head honcho Rob da Bank will be playing out an eclectic array of party tunes and festival bangers, whilst indie hero Blaine Harrison of Mystery Jets will be spinning his favourite records and cuts, so expect everything from alternative anthems to otherworldly psychedelic oddities. The nine piece Hackney Colliery Band will be reinventing the brass band format for the 21st century with a genre bending set of hip-hop, R&B, pop and rock. Alternatively, on TheHop Terrace, music and beer fans can expect an oasis of calm where attendees can enjoy a sensational selection of beers in beautiful surroundings as they escape the revelry of the other spaces.

The good times can be found in all corners – picking the musical mayhem back up in The Pickle Factory where Rockaoke is the order of the day. Rock up to perform with a specialist live Karaoke band and indulge your 80’s nostalgia even further by embracing your inner Tom Cruise and sampling a Maverick cocktail. Relocating for one day only from its spiritual home in Shoreditch, TheGoose Island Brewpub will be setting up shop, bringing a sensational and adventurous range of Goose Island beers including Midway Session IPA, Goose IPA, Golden Goose, Sour Sisters and BCS alongside Blossoms’ SK-Brew.

Tickets for Goose Island Presents Hop Party are on sale on Friday 9th August at 9AM with 100% of the proceeds generated going towards Drake Music – a national arts charity pioneering the use of music technology to break down disabling barriers to making music.
