EP Review: Kid Klumsy – Singing Our Souls

Former Dirt Box Disco frontman Weab’s Kid Klumsy latest E.P ‘Singing Our Souls’ is, takes a deep breath, slightly maturer sounding. Not sure who opener ‘Mr Right Man’ is aimed at but the “Well I still think you’re a cunt” chorus will mean something to someone out there. It’s a ballsy tune that improves which each listen and is sure to become a Klumsy live favourite. ‘Slob’ uncaringly canters along the punk bridleway kicking up dirt before the disturbingly titled ‘Dislexic Munkiz’ does the futile jungle pogo to a chest-thumping beat. The impressive ‘Love Is A Battery Field’ pushes ‘n’ pulls Pop-Punk wires with a chant heavy spine which is just impossible to resist. A spat out ‘She’s A Fuck’ reeks off post-relationship poison before final cut ‘Maisy’s Song’ has subtle 90’s Britrock spine and an almost positive outlook. But wait there’s more a bonus unlisted and untitled seventh track and its excellent with an uber-catchy “no need to swipe left, no need to swipe right’ tinder flicking chorus. Kid Klumsy have released another memorable, albeit unsanitised slab of, reduced to clear, British Punk and like a boot-sale dirty burger, it’ll stay with you for days.
