Car Bomb announce brand new album ‘Mordial’

One of the most impressive things about CAR BOMB, is that their colossal achievements – tours alongside various metal heavyweights, three album releases, an endless list of worldwide festivals – have all stemmed from hard graft. Self-releasing, creating their own lighting rigs for shows and their own art and music videos, CAR BOMB are essentially one of the biggest, hidden secrets in the world of metal.

This is all going to change soon, as the band are set to return with their brand new, 4th album ‘Mordial’, which will be released on September 27th through the Holy Roar record label (Rolo Tomassi, Conjurer, Møl) and looks set to firmly establish the band as a true modern great of the genre. This has been preceded by recent single ‘Dissect Yourself‘ and now their massive new single ‘Scattered Sprites’, which is out today (July 26th) and you can listen to it/watch the video below!

A bit more about ‘Mordial’ from Greg Kubacki – “This sounds extremely cliche, but ‘Mordial’ to me is a record that feels the most like ‘us’.  I mean we love heavy shit, but that’s not what we listen to on the regular. This album explores a lot of other tones, timbers and vibes that we normally listen to, and I’m really excited that we get to showcase that on this record.”

“Wrapping up the sessions of ‘Mordial’ is kinda bitter sweet.  I started writing this album after watching Gojira for a month straight on the ‘Magma’ tour two and a half years ago, and whatever voodoo they had going on during that run had a tremendous effect on me.  I really can’t put my finger on what we’ve been going for on this one (because it’s weird AF), but I know that tour was the seed. And it’s sad that it’s all ending because I’ve never felt so alive working on a record.”

Live wise, the band will be touring the UK and Europe with Animals As Leaders in August, playing at the brilliant ArcTanGent Festival near Bristol in August and also headlining
Euroblast Festival in Germany on September 29th. These follow tours and shows with the likes of Dillinger Escape PlanMeshuggah and Gojira (with whom they share a recording studio with, in Brooklyn NYC).
