Live Review: Ministry at The Institute, Birmingham

Snowflakes In July

Joy to the world my friends as Uncle Al and his Ministry of ruffians grace our humble stage in Birmingham on this night of 4th July. Independence brings with it a responsibility, a steadfastness, and an integrity that you will know right from wrong. We, therefore, have a nod and a wink to our hapless Funcle Trump (or “orange -faced shit gibbon” if you will) as we are reminded of the chaos we are living in.

Set to the backdrop of harrowing images, tales of barbarism and certain death, and a society that breeds corruption, hate and fear.

Do not adjust your eardrums folks, you are tuned in to the correct frequency. A set that is politically, morally, and philosophically charged, driven by social injustice and the ineptitude of our leaders, we are dragged out by our earlobes from the decrepitude that we wallow in. There are no subliminal messages here my friends, the grand master Mr Jourgensen, mic in hand, will tear your face right off.

It’s one man and his mouth organ; Ministry are cut from a different cloth.

‘We are not snowflakes, we are the Antifa’ , we chant with a passion and a force that has captured the audience. The stark imagery enforces the message and heightens the  drama, which in turn fortifies the music and we pronounce ‘Game Over’ as we succumb to the ‘Victims Of A Clown’.

The hugely anticipated encore didn’t disappoint either with gems like’ Stigmata’, ‘The Deity’ and ‘Just One Fix’ with our colourful and animated character at the helm, we are reminded of the stage persona of Iggy and Ice T.

Ministry have set the standard my friends, which of us is willing to stand up and fight?

Can I get an unfuckwithable here?
