THECITYISOURS release new track ‘Don’t Wait For Me’

THECITYISOURS are excited to share their new track “Don’t Wait For Metaken from their forthcoming album “LOW” set for release August 2nd, 2019. “Don’t Wait For Me” is a heartfelt offering that pirouettes between beautiful, vulnerable and powerfully destructive, perfectly mirroring the underlying themes of their most honest track to date.

“Don’t Wait For Me was written about a relationship that was incredibly toxic. We wanted to highlight the effects that relationships of this nature can have. Toxicity in these scenarios is horrible for all those involved, but there is still a general stigma that often men are at fault within these relationships or they should just ‘suck it up’ and get on with it, and even though it isn’t widely spoken about, we’re just as vulnerable… We wanted to juxtapose the lyrical message with the music, to symbolise this stigma. On the surface, this track has a feel-good vibe, but if you dig deeper, you’ll uncover something far more vulnerable.” – Mikey Page

On “LOW”, THECITYISOURS take an introspective look at mental health and self-betterment; combining heartfelt lyrics and impassioned melodies with a gigantic serving of neck cranking riffs. Recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by Oz Craggs (Feed The Rhino, NECK DEEP, Mallory Knox) at Hidden Track Studios in Folkestone, Kent, “LOW” is a truly empowering record that will leave you ready to take on whatever the world throws at you.

“In a social climate where mental health, particularly in Males, is often treated as a taboo subject, we felt it was important to take an honest and sincere approach when putting this album together. These songs have been our coping mechanism for some of the most difficult times in our lives, but also a huge lesson that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even in the darkest moments.

We wanted to empower the ideology that it is okay to be vulnerable, it’s okay to be honest about your emotions and nobody is alone in feeling this way, even if it seems that they are. We hope people can interpret these songs in their own way and experience the same comfort we have in creating ‘LOW’.” – Mikey page
