Tom Grennan was one of the breakout stars of 2018, with an incredible year that sent him to some of the biggest stages in the UK. After scooping a Top 5 Album with debut LP ‘Lighting Matches’, Tom has packed venues and festival stages across the country – with his gravel-smooth voice and unstoppable stage presence making him one of the most talked about artists that the UK has seen in quite some time. Bringing passion, charm, wit and a big-time live show to the intimate St. Luke’s Church, this is a very special show for Tom where he will unveil a beer he has personally brewed with Goose Island’s master brewer in the Goose Island Brewpub in Shoreditch, London.
Grennan’s is a Rice lager (5.0% ABV) which is dry, crisp and highly drinkable. Using a blend of high quality pilsner malt and flaked rice, the beer has an extremely light body with subtle notes of bread and honey. The lager is lightly hopped with a mix of noble hops for a restrained bitterness and a subtle floral aroma. Easy drinking and clean.
Tom Grennan said “OI this is SERIOUS, GLASGOW for a show never fails and it’s in a church so the acoustics will be unreal. To top it off not only am I launching my own personalised beer on the day brewed by me, but all the ticket revenue also goes to charity. LET’S DO THIS, HERE WE, HERE WE, HERE WE FUCKIN’ GO”
The show will take place on National IPA Day and music and beer fans will have the opportunity to sample different, sessionable IPA’s, such as Goose IPA and Midway Sessions IPA which will be on tap, perfect for the summer season. Grennan’s will be the focus larger for the evening.
Dundee’s Be Charlotte is an artist fast-tracked for success, having signed a major label deal with Columbia Records, home to Beyonce and Adele. Her remarkable songwriting talent, a knack for sweeping melodies and a fierce sense of identity and self-worth are driven by her quiet, yet determined personality and her glimmering pop songs, anthemic beats and immediate vocals. The first two singles, Do Not Disturb and Brighter Without You, have set out her stall as one of the hottest new UK artists to watch.
As part of Goose Island’s commitment to supporting grass-roots, emerging talent, the evening will be opened by a local support act chosen by Tom Grennan. Local artists can enter the competition by checking out Goose Island social media – www.gooseisland.com,Facebook,Twitter and Instagram
It’s been an exciting year for Goose Island as the brewery continues to pair its exceptional selection of craft beers with some of the most exciting musical artists around. The Goose Island Presents NME Radar Sessions regularly take place at their Goose Island Brewpub venue in Shoreditch, with artists such as Glasgow’s Lucia performing as well as Zuzu, Swimming Girls, Talk Show and more. Goose Island will be unveiling details of the 2019 annual Bloc Party event imminently as they continue to prove there is no better pairing for great beer than live music.
