The Modern Strangers release new single ‘Visions’

The Modern Strangers release their brand new single ‘Visions’ on July 5th through Hoolay Records. ‘Visions’ is an electro-pop gem.

“We wrote visions at the end of last year in London. It all stemmed from a rough piano riff I had recorded on my phone and it has turned into one of our favourite songs to date. It’s about an old flame who pops up at the most unexpected of times, be it in conversation or in a memory from a place you visited together.” explains frontman Max Davenport.

‘Visions’ is the second single and title track to The Modern Strangers forthcoming ‘Visions EP’, which is set for release on July 12th. The EP features four glorious tracks including; previous single, the bewitching, disco infused ‘Magic Hour’ plus two brand new tracks ‘Parallel’ and live favourite, ‘Be Your Lover’.

‘Magic Hour’, produced by Gordon Mills Jr, was met with a rapturous response on release, hitting the #2 spot on the Hype Machine Chart and is accompanied by a video shot on a glacier in Iceland as well as their homeland of Dungeness and Camber. Watch the video here ‘ https://youtu.be/fW94ElTuz80

Having toured the UK in support of Flor for the second time earlier this year and supported All Twins at Oslo, The Modern Strangers return to the stage to celebrate the EP release. They’ll be hosting an EP launch party show at The Fiddler, Kilburn High Road, London on July 11th. Limited tickets still available here – https://bit.ly/2JPJZv7

Fronted by brothers Max & Archie Davenport, the Tunbridge Wells band first sprang to life off the back of debut single ‘Vanilla’, earning them early support from BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 1. Subsequently self-releasing seminal singles ‘Hot Rain’, ‘Margarita’ and ‘Coco Hello’ in the midst of a busy summer of shows. Winning over new fans eager to hear more from their incendiary live set and leading to signing a publishing deal with BMG. Last summer saw them hitting stages across the UK on their first tour, a plethora of festivals (Latitude, Isle of Wight, Standon Calling and The Great Escape amongst others) to their first European dates, supporting Flor, including shows in Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam (along with a headline set for Gibraltar’s National Day celebrations).

Following on from the band’s debut EP ‘Meltdown Mechanics’ released in June last year to wide support from key blogs, tastemakers and streaming platforms (clocking up over a million plays on Spotify), the band have been working on tracks in LA with their producer Gordon Mills Jr, ready to unleash their sophomore EP.

2019 saw them start the year with sell out shows in London, Manchester and Coventry, along with being picked by Annie Mac for her first “Future sounds” feature of the year and Jack Saunder’s “Next Wave”; further showing the band to be far more than just algorithm approved purveyors of perfect guitar pop.
