Springfield Elementary release ‘Machine Fiend’

With live fan-favourite, thrash-y single, ‘Machine Fiend’ out now, this is ‘Springfield Elementary at their best yet’.

Championed by publications including Louder Than War, MCR Live and No Fun Magazine,  the Manchester-based quartet have a real penchant for the pulse of punk. Sound good? Springfield Elementary’s latest offering ‘Machine Fiend’ follows form with another catchy riot of a single.

Giving some background to the vibrant new release, the band explained that the Machine Fiend is their ‘observation of how people, especially of our generation, seem to beg for validation off strangers on the internet.’ Known to ‘smash their stage time into tiny minuscule bits’, Springfield Elementary don’t just play gigs. Made up by Billy Goodwin (Vocals/Guitar), Brad Lewis (Lead Guitar), Liam Moffat (Bass) and Chris Tomkinson (Drums), the psychedelic four-piece were born out of blind optimism that – as a band – they could salvage some credibility for themselves (one broken guitar string at a time).

Merging their favourite sounds from the last 50 years of Punk and Psychedelia, Springfield Elementary have only been going for a year but are already making waves in the North – creating their own fuzz-soaked cocktail that truly speaks for itself. If the Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Sonics had a baby, Springfield Elementary would be the fruit of that labour.

Recorded at The Kings Arms in Salford, ‘Machine Fiend’ is out now, available for the first time across streaming services, and for purchase as a deluxe digital package.
