BONES UK will release their full-length debut on July 12 via Sumerian Records. Ahead of the release, the band have released a captivating video for “I’m Afraid of Americans“.
“We wanted to play with American stereotypes and go darker on them,” says singer/guitarist Rosie Bones of the video. “It’s like the seedy underbelly of the American dream.”
The duo originally recorded the cover for The Howard Stern Tribute to David Bowie, the King of All Media’s compilation celebrating the legendary artist.
“We got asked to cover this song by Mr. Howard Stern and knew it was perfect on so many levels. Obviously lyrically relevant in the current political climate. Not all Americans are scary but ONE is f***ing terrifying!”
On their self-titled debut album, Rosie and guitarist Carmen Vandenberg confront everything from the beauty industrial complex to toxic masculinity to music-scene sexism, embedding each track with choruses primed for passionate shouting-along.
The album announced with “Pretty Waste“, celebrated the ‘perfectly imperfect’ with “Filthy Freaks“, recently shared the ferocious “Choke” and showed a softer side on the tranquil “Black Blood“.
The now L.A.-based band hits the road at the end of the month starting at Mad Decent Festival before hopping on tour with The Struts. A full list of dates can be found below and you can pre-order BONES UK in various bundles HERE.
