K-Rock Pioneers Bursters Have A New Video ‘Barriers’

April 2019 saw Korean act (BTS) debut at No 1 in the UK album charts (the first ever No 1 by a Korean artist in the UK), Evermore Music are delighted to announce the debut single and debut UK tour for K-Rock act Bursters.

Bursters are a five-piece alternative, Post Alternative Hardcore act from South Korea. They are leading the first wave of a new genre that is set to take the world by storm, K-Rock. The UK tour dates in July 2019 are the first in a World Tour: K-Rock Revelation

The double A side single “Barriers / Hero” is the perfect showcase for Bursters sound. Driving metal riffs mixed with instantly memorable melodies and screamed vocals. The band mix the very best of metal with explosive live performances born from consistent touring across Korea. “Barriers” has more akin to the likes of Bring Me The Horizon than their K-Pop contemporaries and is a sure fire hit single – the song features a video by the same team that brought Bursters hit video “Lost Child”. “Hero” delves even further into alternative with screamo style vocals, brutal riffing throughout and a beautifully uplifting refrain.

Bursters first burst onto the scene in Korea in 2014 when they appeared on TV show “Superstar K”. In the midst of the all powerful K-Pop, Bursters are the only metal band to ever reach the Top 6 in the history of “Superstar K”. The band signed to Evermore Music and released their debut EP “Independent” in early 2015. A further three track EP was released in late September 2015 and the bands acclaim outside Korea grew with over 1.2 million views on youtube for “Lost Child”. Bursters built up a fanatical Korean support through relentless touring, and their debut album in Korea (“Live In Hope”, released in 2017, was critically and commercially acclaimed, achieving 85/100 in the Japanese rock bible magazine Burrn!).

2019 sees the band turning their attention to the rest of the world – releasing their first English language music in late May, touring outside of Asia for the first time and putting the finishing touches to their debut English language album – set for release in 2019.

If 2019 is the year K-Pop conquered all, it’s also set to be the year K-Rock becomes the next dominant force in world music, with Bursters leading the charge…
