The September Session brings new music to London’s O2 Academy2 Islington

Academy Events has today announced ‘The September Session’, the first in a monthly series of shows, dedicated to supporting up-and-coming artists and developing new talent. The first ‘Session’ in September will feature four bands who will headline O2 Academy2 Islington in NorthLondon on Wednesday 11 September.

At a time when we’re overrun with playlists, music platforms, and ‘you might like’ recommendations, it can be hard to find your new favourite band amongst all the noise. The Academy Events promoters have selecting the most exciting up-and-coming bands across a range of genres, carefully curating the best new artists on their radar, and all for just a fiver!

“We know how difficult it is for new bands to break through, so we want to support them and play professionally-equipped venues” says Academy Events’ Joe Davies, promoter of The September Session“Academy Events is focusing heavily on seeking out rising bands to perform headline shows, but also give these artists the opportunity to step up in their development and play to new audiences in new regions.”

This month’s headliners are Leeds based six-piece Talkboy, combining their playful indie rock with captivating melodies and stunning layers of vocal harmonies.

’A band who may be new but know exactly what they’re doing. Talkboy are a force to be reckoned with.’ – Gigslutz

’More than living up to the hype’ – Louder Than War

Joining them are the emo-indie quartet History & Lore, sultry dreamer Lonnie Storey, old-world, modern indie acoustic musician Olli Ingall and DJ Liam James Ward.

That’s four bands AND a DJ for just £5!

Get your mates together and come down to The September Session at O2 Academy2 Islington on Wednesday 11 September and check out the future bands everyone’s going to be talking about.
