Victorious Festival Boots Local Economy

Victorious Festival (23rd – 25th August 2019) – the UK’s Biggest Metropolitan Festival – has today released an official report following its 2018’s event and the economic results are better than ever.

The report revealed that Victorious contributed an enormous £9,842,258 to the local economy in 2018 alone, those who visited Portsmouth for the day during the weekend of the festival increased their spend per person from £68.47 in 2017 to £85.60 in 2018. Over a third (35%) of festival-goers who visited the area across the weekend of Victorious said they had a more positive view of Portsmouth, with 30% of visitors confirming they are more likely to re-visit the city in the future.

A total of 120,126 people attended the festival in 2018 with 67% of visitors coming from Hampshire and 34% from Portsmouth itself. Impressively, 90% of visitors had attended the festival previously and nearly a quarter (24%) bought tickets to the full three days.

Similarly to 2017’s results, the gender split for festival attendees was 40% male and 60% female. 56% were aged between 35 and 54 and a fifth were aged over 55 years. A quarter of visitors attended the festival with children, further cementing the festivals status as being accessible to all ages and genders.

Not only has Victorious made a big impact on the local economy, the festival also proved to be sustainable, with the report documenting that Victorious Festival used 0.23% per litre of fuel (per person, per day), scoring significantly lower than the industry average of 0.58%. Additionally, the festival also scored a remarkable B in its Fuel Tool Efficiency rating, the highest being A and the lowest being G.
