Bad//Dreems kick back at identity politics & half-truths on new single

From humble beginnings, Adelaide band Bad//Dreems gone on to tour with Wolf AliceWavvesthe Avalanches and At The Drive In as well as appearances at Splendour in Grass, Falls and Laneway Festivals.

Their songs tell outsider tales of suburban ennui, isolation and dystopia. For the first time in the band’s career, they’ve taken a break from their heavy touring schedule to record their first ‘studio’ album, hooking up with indie label Farmer and the Owl (home to Hockey Dad, Totally Unicorn, The Pinheads, TEES and Tropical Strength).

First release on the label, ‘Double Dreaming’ features angular, Devo-esque guitars and gritty, snarling vocal melodies. The band tell us “Double Dreaming is a fevered vision of the end days, an absurd tale of Neil Young’s hearse, Sampson and the Lion, identity politics and Selene. Lyrically the album examines the ridiculousness of the post-truth world as it teeters on the edge of apocalypse.”
