For those still crying over Brit Hard Rockers, The Almighty, Three Colours Red or even Zodiac Mindwarp’s premature demise despair no more, just jump aboard the Psychobabylon train. This E.P is four cuts of imperious trash covered Rock which has the ability to make you dance, mosh and just good old fashioned headbang while simultaneously swigging Jack Daniels from a Lemmy shot glass. Opener ‘All There Is’ spins, twists and grinds through the Metal tick sheet, catchy, yep, Rocking, yep, oh and a ‘Talk Dirty To Me’ riff played through a Wildhearts speaker, hell yes. ‘Dead Time’ drags it’s cowboy boots through the Nineties like a battle vest wearing Rocker waiting for Download to come round (when he should be going to Stonedeaf or the Call Of The Wild festivals).
The third cut follows the same path of dirty ‘n’ filthy trash can city R’N’R and growling vocals that combine to spark memories of Birmingham’s XL’s club or just late night headphones and heartache. The five-piece round off this all-encompassing E.P with the standout track ‘No Means Of Escape’. Psychobabylon’ has covered all the Metal bases but rather than sounding like an all things to all men kind of release ’Is This All There Is’ is, in fact, an almost perfect slab of Post-MTV infected Rock. Chew, suck and swallow, repeat, chew, suck and swallow…motherfuckers.
