Only Sun reveal tongue-in-cheek new video for ‘Vice’

ONLY SUN are back with a fittingly exuberant and highly entertaining video for new single: ‘VICE’.

With tongue-firmly-in-cheek, the new clip finds the band poking fun at the very process of making a music video as a band. Staged around a fake board-meeting, the conceptual new video stars the five-piece as themselves and brainstorming to come up with a new music video with a big impact.

Speaking about the concept behind the video, Only Sun say:

“As we sat around the discussion table, coming up with dreadful idea after dreadful idea for the ‘VICE’ music video, a concept was born. Why not let the viewer see behind the looking glass? Why not allow the viewer behind the scenes, to experience the pain, misery and carnage that is the foundation of every Only Sun music video? Armed with a camera, five woeful ideas, and a children’s face-painting kit, we present the official music video for ‘VICE’. The sum of the parts is always greater than the whole…”
Revamped with an invigorating lust for life and a refreshed zeal for their work, ‘VICE’ is a proud statement of intent from a band back-from-the-brink. Packed with dizzyingly rapid-fire vocals duels and tautly triggered key-changes, ‘VICE’ is the freshest new cut from the rising High Wycombe five piece. Drivingly frenetic and darkly funky, the track is now accompanied with a video that is equally as playful and stimulating as the band’s latest sonic adventure.
Fiercely dedicated to their art, Only Sun stake a claim for being one of the hardest-working acts on the indie circuit right now. Ambitiously delivering 12 top-drawer singles in 12 months last year without even breaking a sweat, the band’s enrapturing indie pop has seen them consistently turning heads since their formation and racking up over 1.6 million Spotify streams in the process. Frequently found in tastemaker playlists including The Indie List, Hot New Bands, New Music Friday UK and earning praise from BBC Radio 6 kingpins Steve Lamacq & Tom Robinson, and across the wider blogosphere (including Clash Magazine who praised the band as: “five dreamers who want to make music that really says something”); blink and you might just miss them.
VICE’ by Only Sun is latest single from the quintet and is out now on CLOSEUP Records; an innovative new collaboration between cutting edge LDN promoters Close-Up and the Modern Sky UK label.
