Keith Urban shares new single ‘Drop Top’

Following a successful return U.K. trip earlier this year and Entertainer Of The Year wins for both the CMA and ACM Awards, a feat only achieved in the same year by 14 others. The four-time GRAMMY® Award winner Keith Urban will release the latest single ‘Drop Top’ featuring Kassi Ashton, out on April 17th via Caroline. Stream ‘Drop Top’ featuring Kassi Ashton below!

New single ‘Drop Top’ is taken from his ground-breaking #1 album Graffiti U, and its release follows a successful return to the U.K. after nearly a decade that saw Urban embark on his first tour of the UK and Europe in more than a decade. Urban headlined both the C2C festival at the O2 alongside an intimate show at the O2 Kentish Forum which instantly sold out.

Urban, whose received praise from critics during his U.K. and Europe visit for his electrifying and ‘no holds barred’ concerts, has already stormed the charts with his 9th studio album, taking the top spot in the U.S., Canada and Australia, becoming the only solo country artist to achieve this, not once but twice!

Urban’s latest single ‘Drop Top’ revs up a story of driving to Coachella sound tracked by a roaring guitar lead and EDM-inspired bass and equally raucous cameo courtesy of newcomer Kassi Ashton. Keith is always inventing new ways to connect with his audience and ‘Drop Top’ is no exception. “I wrote ‘Drop Top’ with Jimmy Robbins, Josh Osborne, and MoZella. I had this idea for a really simple groove – I grabbed a bass and played it over a beat.  MoZella had this idea about a group of girls driving off to Coachella in a drop top Jeep, which gave it a real Summery, fun feel,” says Urban. “It’s born of that.  I love concerts, love the whole experience of getting ready, heading over to the venue, experiencing the show and the buzz you feel after.”

After nine full-length studio records, four GRAMMY® Awards, and millions of albums, songs, and tickets sold worldwide, Keith Urban continues to explore. The singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, continues to follow his curiosity. Graffiti U, highlights Urban’s natural musical progression and also marks where he currently resides creatively. It’s this sense of presence during his writing and recording process that gives each of Urban’s albums an unabashed honesty and authenticity.

The Grammy nominated, hypnotic and heartfelt ‘Parallel Line’, co-written by Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid, Julia Michaels, Amy Wadge and Benjamin Levin, co-produced by Benny Blanco, Sheeran, McDaid and Urban, juxtaposes Sheeran’s original raw guitar recording and a knockout vocal from Urban.

To date, Urban has landed 24 career number ones and sold more than 20 million albums. He counts four GRAMMY® Awards, 13 CMA Awards, 15 ACM Awards, four AMAs, and a People’s Choice Award among his growing list of accolades. Urban’s musical virtuosity and fluidity has led to him collaborating with a diverse group of artists that include, among others; Alicia Keys, Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, John Meyer, Julia Michaels, Justin Timberlake, Miranda Lambert, Nile Rodgers, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones and Vince Gill.
