It was a night of female power at Southampton’s Loft as Bash!, Ashnikko and headliner Girli all put on a wonderful show. Despite not being entirely sold out, the show certainly didn’t lack atmosphere with plenty fans for each artist.

Southampton based indie band Bash! certainly got the night off to a great start with Latvian lead singer Amanda Bashmakova totally ruling the stage along with the rest of the band. The actual sound was music to my ears as it provided lots of beats that you couldn’t help dancing to.

They played the likes of Indecisive and Wild which were my particular favourites of the night and despite Bash!’s set being short it was certainly packed with full of energy. I can see Bash! one day headlining a venue like this and one day even bigger.

Next up was solo artist Ashnikko who had her own fan base and certainly knew how to engage with fans. She certainly had a hip hop vibe to her which got the crowd screaming at times.

Ashnikko’s stand out song for me was ‘Invitation’ that certainly didn’t disappoint fans and warmed up Girli before her set. Ashnikko is certainly an artist to look out for in the coming years and could easily headline any venue in Southampton.

Last up was Girli who had the pleasure to interview before her show, check it out below!

Joined by her back up singer Grace Goslin , Girli was celebrating her release of latest album Odd One Out.

Girli began with plenty of energy as she began with Play It Cool and Young. For the song Pink, the artist managed to get everyone on the floor and jump up and down which was just great to see. Girli is one of those artists who just has amazing stage presence and is very loyal to her fans. She continued with the set with the likes of Fuck Right Back Off to LA before she had a more intimate experience with the fans as Girli sat on a char backwards and sang Friday Night Big Screen. A real hit of the night was Girl I Met on the Internet and it was nice to see Girli enjoying playing her older songs.

Girli’s vocals remind me of Lily Allen or Kate Nash but better as she can also rap which is just an incredible ability to have. The set finished on Up & Down which clear meant a lot to the London based artist and was performed elegantly. A quick encore proceeded with Deal With It and Hot Mess which was just a perfect way to end a perfect night.
