Swedish Death Candy Release New Single ‘Green’

London-based international acid rockers SWEDISH DEATH CANDY are pleased to present their storming new single ‘Green’. The track is the B-side from their forthcoming 7” single ‘A Date With Caligula’/’Green’ which is released 10th May via Hassle Records and available to preorder now.

The band have just finished work in the studio on their long-awaited second album, with further details of the release to be revealed over the coming months.

In the meantime, Swedish Death Candy will appear on an extensive run of EU/UK tour dates supporting Nashville stoner/blues rock outfit ALL THEM WITCHES throughout April/May 2019. The band will also be appearing at a host of other festivals this year including Raw Power FestivalSonic Whip Festival,DesertFest Berlin, and more to be announced.

Commenting on the single and upcoming tour dates, SDC vocalist Louis Perry says: “The word ‘green’ can be used in many different contexts—other than being a colour associated with nature, grassy fields, freshness, health, or psychedelic plants, it’s considered good luck in some cultures, whilst being bad luck in others. It’s also used as an expression for someone who’s naive or new to something, and the colour of envy, greed, sickness and money. I thought it worked as a metaphor about perspective.

“Sonically, the song jumps around a lot, the riffs are kinda heavy, hectic and slightly ugly-sounding, whereas the verses have a sweeter, dreamy feel about them. It was actually the first new song we wrote after finishing the first album—it felt almost like a continuation and came together pretty quickly from jamming.

“We’re about to head on tour with Nashville duders All Them Witches, who are one of our favourite bands, and we can’t wait. Be sure to catch a date if you can!”

SDCs last single ‘A Date With Caligula’ picked up praise from the likes of Louder Sound, Planet Rock Radio, and Kerrang! Global Creative Director/MOJO contributing editor Phil Alexander.

Rounding out the end of last year with three exhaustive months of European touring, SDC kicked off 2019 on a short stretch of dates with Dutch psych rockers DeWolff, in-between sessions in the studio working on their forthcoming second album, details of which will be revealed over the coming months.
