The genre-smashing Nashville trio Judah & the Lion are thrilled to share another new track‘7000x’, out now. The track gives fans another preview of the band’s forthcoming third studio album Pep Talks, which is due for physical release in the UK on July 5th, via Cletus the Van/Caroline.
“I feel like there’s a tendency in our generation to linger in negativity, but that’s not our story as a band or as people. There are moments in all our lives where you need to stay down, but there’s always that time where you need to get up and move forward. It’s the turning point: All this stuff happened, yeah, that was the reality but let’s get up, let’s do something about it, let’s get better.”– Vocalist Judah Akers on ‘7000x’
The three-piece (Judah Akers, Nate Zuercher, Brian Macdonald) will hit the road on a massive global tour this summer in support of the new album, which kicks off in the UK at Glasgow’s King Tut’s on July 16th. They will then visit Dublin and London before heading off across Europe for five shows before a 44-date voyage throughout North America with some summer festivals dotted in between.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now – visit www.judahandthelion.com.
Pep Talks follows on from their breakthrough hit Folk Hop N Roll, which propelled them onto a global stage with the success of the RIAA Gold, US chart-topping single ‘Take It All Back’. The new album includes the previously released ‘Why Did You Run’, the Top 10 US Alternative Radio single ‘Over My Head’, (which the band performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month), ‘Quarter-Life Crisis’, ‘Pep Talks’, and the critically-acclaimed ‘Pictures (feat. Kacey Musgraves)’, which has been played on BBC Radio 2.
The sonically exciting 17-track fusion of alternative indie-folk, hip hop, pop and electronic influences also features a song with former touring mate, US rapper Jon Bellion and features Darren King (ex-Mutemath) on drums.
The band also recently released a special live Bluegrass version of the track ‘Over My Head’ with Bluegrass legends Jerry Douglas, Dan Tyminski and Missy Raines. You can watch that here
