Anavae release new single ‘High’ with music video via A Wolf At Your Door Records

Unbound by terms of genre classification and free to explore all facets of music that intrigue and inspire them, Anavae are re-defining music, without definitions. The London two-piece’s new single ‘High’ sports a humongous, arena-ready chorus teamed with the nuance of electronic and traditional rock elements.

Vocalist Rebecca Need-Menear says “‘High’ is about the slow melancholy of feeling hopeless and numb. It’s the feeling you get when you forget that things can and will change. It’s forgetting how to look forward and beyond and the feeling that maybe love is meaningless amongst it all.”

The music video illustrates that feeling of isolation with a series of black and white vignettes that conjure a sense of hopelessness.

The process of writing the song was a journey that began in Becca’s bedroom. There was a lot of experimenting with sound along the way and some of the happy accidents ended up making their way onto the final track. The rawness of the demo takes mixed into the finished version connects it fully to the very moment of inception.

‘High’ is Anavae’s debut release with London-based indie A Wolf At Your Door Records (Mallory Knox, Selfish Things etc) as they prepare to release their first full length with the label later this year.
