ArcTanGent Festival have announced progressive rock band Coheed And Cambria as Thursday night headliners and joining the already announced Meshuggah and Battles.
“We look forward to playing with this extremely unique and talented group of musicians—bands like Meshuggah, Battles and Daughters—who have each fearlessly approached sound to mold a musical voice all their own. ArcTangent feels like a festival designed to inspire the audience and we’re excited to be a part of the experience.”Coheed And Cambria
“Each year at ATG we pride ourselves on trying to surprise people a bit with one of our headliner choices. Last year it was Glassjaw and in the past someone like say Converge. I think Coheed fit perfectly into this lineage of incredible artists. They are left-leaning, experimental, a bit weird and most importantly to me, they sound only like themselves. They also have enough bangers to headline any festival – if you don’t know the song ‘In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3’ then go listen now!” says James Scarlett
Brutal purveyors of metal, and perhaps one of the most talked about British bands right now, Employed to Serve have also been added to the lineup. “ArcTanGent was one of the first festivals we played and is still one of our favourite memories. We cant wait to come back this year to headline a stage with a new album! “ Justine (vox) Employed To Serve.
Spinefarm records’ Puppy have been added to the bill, at long last according to Ian in the band:
“People have been saying we should play ArcTanGent for a couple of years now but unfortunately none of those people were the person who books the festival, so we never have. Imagine our surprise when the only person with the authority to actually make this happen contacted us and said “Boys, it’s fucking time” I didn’t even have to ask who was on the phone. Let’s get these breadsticks.”
Others announced today are Raketkanon, Brutus, Cultdreams, Slow Crush and Gender Roles.
As with every year, the Silent Disco is a firm favourite and this time we have The Algorithm play a full band silent disco set (Main Stage), GosT will be on the Bixler Stage and John Stanier from Battles will also DK on the Bixler Stage all on the Thursday. Friday & Saturday will be the usual party!
