Exploring life experiences in a positive way and delivered within an accessible musical package, Your Life & Mine have managed to create an anthemic statement for 21st Century living. Under One Roof will be the soundtrack to the Summer, for Your Life & Mine.

Under One Roof is available for pre-order, make sure you hear as soon as it’s available at http://smarturl.it/ylam-underoneroof-ep

Your Life & Mine explain the inspiration behind the new EP:
Under One Roof was inspired by the concept that everything we talk about in each song is something that everyone goes through in their own life at home. The tracks on Under One Roof take the common emotions of love and hate and gives a ‘tongue in cheek’ approach to the themes to demonstrate how it’s not always doom and gloom. Life goes on and life gets better, it’s all about surrounding yourself with the people you love.

The record also deals with other themes such as loss, bullying and addiction which we feel gives a hardened approach whilst also maintaining the YL&M vibe. Our songs are written about our experiences with life, and themes that matter to us. Under One Roof is our best portrayal of these themes yet and we are so excited to share them with you.

The first single from Under One Roof is Better End The Heartbreak, focusing on the topic of relationship breakdowns, Your Life & Mine package the subject matter with soaring melodies that will stay with you long after the track has finished.

The band explain the meaning behind the track and how they wanted the video to reflect the lyrical content:

“Better End The Heartbreak focuses on identifying when a relationship has become exhausted. The song talks about being oblivious to a relationship that is falling apart and how some of us choose to look the other way to make life easier.

The idea for the video came about when writing the lyrics. We really wanted to create a visual that went hand in hand with the song’s narrative and we wanted to push the exaggerated obliviousness as much as we could to keep it feeling fresh and tonally light. We all felt inspired by our childhood when writing the record and that’s something we wanted to reflect in all aspects of our music.
Going with the 90’s/00’s aesthetic and that VHS look felt like icing on the cake in terms of capturing our nostalgia of growing up watching our favourite bands.
