Pleiades are excited to share their epic new single “All At Your Mercy” taken from their forthcoming EP of the same name which will be released on all digital platforms May 31st via AWAL.
“All At Your Mercy is lyrically about control and the catharsis we feel when we finally give it up. As Humans, we welcome consequence, reluctantly accept responsibility and approach the future with caution.I guess you could describe it as Agnosiophobia or the fear of not knowing what will happen” – Andy Calderbank (vocals)
“All At Your Mercy” was recorded at HQ Recording Studio in Manchester and produced by Joe Clayton (Pijn, Leeched, Wren), and mastered by Brad Boatright (SUNN O))), Rolo Tomassi, Employed To Serve, Coldbones) at Audiosiege Portland, Oregon.
Brutal, alluring and beautiful, “All At Your Mercy” is a stunning amalgamation of dissonant sounds and tidal swells of ambience that play off the ornate and destructive downpour of guitars. The rasping, guttural vocals forcibly pulling you deeper into the eye of a post-metal storm, with barely a promise of respite in its wake.
Pleiades are a five piece post-metal band from Manchester brought together through their love of all things emo and alternative. Originally creating emotive instrumental soundscapes as a three-piece, the band held auditions for a vocalist to add an extra dimension.
“We originally had people come in and sing Jimmy Eat World’s ‘Polaris’ but nothing quite clicked. When Andy (Calderbank) came in he was really up for having a go at one of the pieces we’d written and he just LET RIP! Honestly, I couldn’t stop smiling throughout. It was the combination of shouts, screams and his impassioned vocal style that caught our attention… we took him on straight away.”
Seeking to enrich their new sound and complete the lineup, the band enlisted the skills of Ryan Noble (guitar) an old friend of Andy’s, who brought greater depth, production and substance to the band, helping them to realise their vision and setting them on the path to writing their first record. The lineup was finally complete with the addition of OJ Riley (drums) bringing energy and intensity to their live show. The band have since gone on to share stages with Free Throw, Dryjacket, Wren, Napoleon, Chapter and Verse, OHHMS and more.
Be sure to catch them live soon.
