Album Review: Lotus Eater – Social Hazard

Mother Freaking Fear!

We have a solid, measured and accurately targeted dose of thuggery to begin this rabid and rowdy onslaught, it makes a lot of noise for something so neatly packaged.

With “Yuck”  be prepared for a vicious pounding- find a hand to hold and a corner to cower in as “The Fear” will take over and you know you’ve lost to the entity known as “Freak” there will be no mercy.

“Mother” sees some quite cut-throat, shake you to the core lyrics

“the woman from which I grew, I am not whole”

Written by a raving lunatic perhaps? Somehow, I think not.

This EP is called “Social Hazard”, the words nail and head come to mind.

There is very Carcass like in its feel , all grit and a steely presence, they are out to get you, so you need to find cover people, if like me you are a little scaredy cat. If you are quite courageous, then please after you, sorry I forgot my manners for a second.

A brief respite with “Words Nothing” but the chimes at midnight tone still sends shivers up and down your spine.

Slipknot had “Eyeless” and here we have “Jawless” – please check you have the correct number of body parts before you leave my friends.

A non-stop fear fest- open up and say AAARRRGGGHHH!

Lotus Eater – Social Hazard out 29th March on Hopeless Records.
