Halfnoise Drops New Single ‘Who Could You Be’

HALFNOISE (the creative outlet of musician and producer Zac Farro) is stoked to release the new single “Who Could You Be” – available today on all DSPs via Congrats Records. The first taste of new music since the band’s 2018 Flowerss EP, the song arrives just ahead of a run of special headline dates in Nashville, Los Angeles and NYC. HALFNOISE is also confirmed for a slew of debut festival appearances this summer, including BottleRock, Bunbury, Firefly, Electric Forest, Live At Leeds (UK), Hit The North (UK), and Eastbound (Dublin).

There are very few moments in life where it feels like lightning strikes you and you cannot do anything besides react. ‘Who Could You Be’ was a lighting moment. Daniel our keyboard player and I went up to my studio in my house and I told him I had a riff, 4 hours later we had the song finished, music, lyrics and all. It all stems from initial reaction. ZAP” – Zac

At just under 2 minutes in length, “Who Could You Be” leans into the band’s natural progression towards psych-rock as heard across 2016’s Sudden Feeling LP, 2017’s The Velvet Face EP, and the aforementioned Flowerss EP. HALFNOISE’s unique penchant for blending modern sounds with warm tones reminiscent of years past has garnered accolades from the likes of The Fader, Stereogum, Billboard, Noisey, NYLON, BrooklynVegan and most recently NPR who described the band as “rhythmically rich psychedelic-pop,” adding that Zac’s aerobic drumming contributes a “sparkling snap to its fizz.”

A director and photographer in his own right, Zac is also gearing up for the release of his first photo book – In Transit – in partnership with Lomography, which documents his travels with Paramore, HALFNOISE and more. He will be throwing a launch party at the Kinfolk Space in Brooklyn, NY on March 28th, the day before HALFNOISE’s headline performance at Market Hotel. Visitors will be able to view a gallery with work from Zac, Josh Goleman, Phoenix Johnson, and Sophia Ragomo and will be treated to a DJ set from HALFNOISE.
