When speaking to about the new song, Chris Connelly says, “I was so humbled to write and sing for this incredible music, my favorite thing about collaboration is that someone else’s sounds and melodies will push me into different atmospheres and moods, it’s like walking through someone else’s private home, it’s a privilege and I do not take it for granted as it can only ever strengthen me as a writer.”

Fryer meanwhile states, “It’s been a great pleasure working with Chris. I’ve been listening to his records for a very long time. Our friend Marija Buljeta put us in touch with each other thinking it would be a good idea if we collaborated on a song or two. As you can hear, she was right.”

Black Needle Noise’s previously released music  features a diverse who’s who of alternative vocalists such as Mimi Page (Delirium), Jennie Vee (bassist, Hole), Ana Breton (Dead Leaf Echo), Omniflux (Puscifer), Kendra Frost (Kite Base), Andrea Kerr (Colt), Sivert Hoyem, Antic Clay, and ZiaLand, among others. “I like to keep people guessing as to what will be released next, not only with sound but now with what language the song will be in,” explains Fryer about his revolving door of vocalists.

John Fryer started his career in 1979 at London’s Blackwing Studios (London) and soon began working with seminal bands on the 4ADMuteRough Trade, and Beggars Banquet record labels, including Depeche ModeThe Wolfgang Press, and Cocteau Twins. His achievement in helping develop the latter’s pioneering ethereal and ambient sound ultimately led Watts-Russell to recruit Fryer as his partner for This Mortal Coil.
