Today, Cardiff ascending newcomers HOLDING ABSENCE have released a brand new music video for ‘Monochrome.’ The song is taken from their self-titled debut album, which will be released through SharpTone Records on 8th March 2019.
“We’re so proud and excited to show everybody Monochrome, the song shows our band sonically and visually in a new light and opens a lot of doors for us. We feel like this track, alongside the prior 3 singles released are a great insight as to what our album has to offer and what fans can expect”. – Lucas Woodland, vocals.
In addition to a new video from the band, today HOLDING ABSENCE will be performing their first ever stripped back set instore at Heads Above The Waves in Cardiff for National Self-Harm Awareness Day. Fans will get to hear songs from the upcoming debut and ask questions about the record. Entry is free on a ‘first-come, first serve’ basis with a limited capacity of only 50 spaces. The band comments “Our friends in Heads Above The Waves have been working tirelessly for the past six years to raise awareness of depression and self-harm in young people. They are a non-profit organisation that we are proud to support.”
The Welsh post-hardcore quintet also confirmed this week that THE NIGHTMARES will be replacing CAPSIZE as support on their upcoming March UK tour. The band have also announced a partnership with Safe Gigs For Women who will be present at all shows to offer support and education on the importance of making the live music experience a safe and inclusive environment.
HOLDING ABSENCE comment: “As a band, we hate more than anything to have to cancel a tour or let down our fans – but the only thing worse than having to do that, is having to do so due to particular shows becoming a place where our fans may feel unsafe or unwelcome. After this experience, we’ve decided to do everything we can to tackle the issue and make all HOLDING ABSENCE shows safe for all people. With that in mind, we’ll be bringing Safe Gigs For Women out with us to help lend support and comfort to those who may need it”
