Master Peace, Signor Benedick The Moor, Worstworldproblems and more feature on itoldyouiwouldeatyou’s genre-warping hip-hop collaboration ‘K.O.#1’

Fast-rising UK indie-punk/emo collective itoldyouiwouldeatyou are streaming a boundary-pushing new hip hop collaboration track today, titled ‘K.O.#1’. The song is the b-side to their new single ‘Almost Zero’ which is released on 22nd February 2019.

The track features vocals from Sacramento, California’s Signor Benedick The Moor,  London’s genre-defying ascendant star Master Peace, teenslasher91 of emo rap crew WORSTWORLDPROBLEMS, mystery anonymous London-based rapper DWF, long-time collaborator-turned-vocalist Chevy Blazer, experimental hip hop producer Dave Sylvester, Cardiff producer/DJ/artist KINGKHAN, and Railsplitter (aka itoldyouiwouldeatyou’s vocalist Joey Ashworth).

Bringing together the wide-ranging talents of this host of respected international peers, friends and collaborators from the broad church of hip hop—many of whom have been tipped by the likes of NME and Complex as ones to watch for 2019—the new track is another interesting curveball from the band, fast-developing a reputation as true innovators in their field.

“We’re tired of the same sounds, same lineups, same shit,” says vocalist Joey Ashworth of the unorthodox new track, “so we asked a bunch of people we respect to show us how it’s done. Every person on this track is special to us and we straight up couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to collaborate with.”

In addition to recording new vocals for the track, the beat used is a re-working of previous itoldyouiwouldeatyou album track ‘Divine Violence’, which the band painstakingly re-arranged especially for the project.

Ashworth is keen for the b-side to act as a platform for their fans to discover more about their diverse musical influences and interests, as they continue: “We hope some of our fans who might not have checked out these artists get deep into them now, cos if we’re your favourite band you’d better fuck with these guys.

“We’re gonna keep doing this ‘til you can see ityiwey and Master Peace on a lineup and not bat an eyelid.”

The band are currently in the middle of a string of February UK tour dates supporting Liverpool punks Queen Zee on their near-sold-out debut headline tour.
