The Deadnotes Challenge Harmful Beauty Standards In Hard-Hitting ‘Makeup’ Video

Freiburg, Germany-based indie-punks THE DEADNOTES have revealed a hard-hitting and emotional video for their new single ‘Makeup’, which is out now on their own newly-established 22Lives Records.

The news comes ahead of their forthcoming February 2019 UK headline tour dates with KID DAD presented by Punktastic, The Punk Site, and Already Heard, which kick off this week with a London date at The Monarch on 20th February 2019.

The Deadnotes are currently marching their way to the top of the indie-punk scene on the continent, tipped as one of the hottest new acts of 2019. With their new single ‘Makeup’, they not only justify their current success, but up the ante to deliver both a poignant and memorable song, with a powerful message.

“It really kills us to see so many people struggling with themselves,” comment the band on the inspiration behind the single and video, “unable to find comfort simply with the way they are or how they act, and instead harming themselves by trying to be different. The song is ostensibly a socially critical song tackling beauty ideals and the way people judge each other.”

An extensive UK/EU tour will follow the single release, with shows across the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and The Netherlands to promote the band’s forthcoming album, due to be released later this year.
